SONGS OF IRELAND: A MARY BLACK TRIBUTE SHOW

Kathryn Clements is one of Australia's finest exponents of Traditional and Contemporary Irish song. Her latest show ''Songs of Ireland'' is a tribute to the internationally renowned, multi award winning Irish songstress, Mary Black. Kathryn will be joined by guitarist and fiddle player, Patrick Evans, as she weaves the stories, music and songs of Ireland's most popular female performer.

From Ireland to Here:

‘FROM IRELAND TO HERE’ is a passionate story of friendship, generosity of spirit and courage to follow your dreams. A story and journey without an ending for once begun it will continue to lead you through music, song, laughter and haunting beauty to discover the very heart and soul of Ireland and its people.

‘From Ireland to Here’ showcases traditional Irish songs and music  learned through the ancient oral/aural tradition. However, it also pays tribute to the finest Irish contemporary singers and songwriters such as Mary Black; Kieran Goss; John Spillane  and many others ….

‘From Ireland to Here’ is a musical cabaret/concert over two 50 minute sets and because it incorporates both traditional and contemporary styles, will appeal to both young and old alike.  It can also be tailored into a 45 minute concert set, applicable to theme concerts etc

Kathryn is supported by two of Melbourne’s finest musicians and, if required, Irish dancers can be included. However, she is equally comfortable weaving her songs and stories as a solo performance.

Kathryn's  inspirational fusion of both Traditional and contemporary Irish song  & her own acclaimed original material makes for an entertaining & enchanting musical experience.

The show can be easily adapted for a larger auditorium or an intimate restaurant setting. A CD sampler of the show is available upon request.
